When you complete your Celebrancy certification you then have the opportunity to register as a Celebrant, and you can then perform an array of celebrancy services including weddings, baby naming and funeral services. On successful completion, you will be awarded with a CHC41015 Certificate IV in Celebrancy, which is the minimum requirement for registration as a marriage Celebrant.
Once you have received your certificate, you can contact the Attorney General’s Department to obtain an application package to become registered as a Marriage Celebrant. Units completed for this qualification meet the requirements of the Registrar of Marriage Celebrants, as set out in regulation 37G(2) of the Marriage Regulations 1963.

With ASQA's clear guidance, Rose Training Australia has adopted a sophisticated classroom substitution program utilising ZOOM software. Initiating the virtual classroom involved extensive trainer professional development and this along with real-time (during actual class time) support from administration and IT has allowed for a successful outcome. In addition, each student is contacted prior to the live class and participates, where necessary, in a one on one ZOOM practice session with student support. The feedback has been extremely positive.

You will also be performing a number of mock ceremonies (marriage ceremonies as well as non-legal ceremonies). These can be performed by sourcing 4-5 participants from your friends and family, video recorded and then presented for assessment.
One of your ceremonies must be viewed by an audience of at least 20 people. This can be done by having a literal 20 people in attendance at one of your "mock" ceremonies, or, by sharing one of your videos to 20 of your family and friends. Our team can help make up numbers when requested. Further instruction on this will come within the assessment.
CHC41015 – Certificate IV in Celebrancy | Structure
Our training philosophy is one of assisting the learner to reach their goals in a way which is as stress free as possible. We know that people learn better when the training is relevant to their needs, made as enjoyable as possible and learners feel that they are achieving their goals.
The CHC41015 – Certificate IV in Celebrancy course comprises 5 clusters which can be studied through numerous course structures:
- A five-day Face to Face Zoom Classroom (Monday – Friday) + portfolio of work* (online study)
- Five consecutive Saturdays Face to Face Zoom Classroom + portfolio of work* (online study)
- Three consecutive Tuesday, Wed and Thursday evening Face to Face Zoom Classroom + portfolio of work* (online study)

About Face-to-Face Zoom Classroom
- Our classes will still be running as live Face-to-Face Zoom Classroom using Zoom.
- Zoom is the best tele-conferencing platform we have ever used, if you’re interested – check it out here (you are encoureged to download the app-Zoom client for Meetings to speed up getting going online).
- If you are joining a face-to-face classroom, you may request a call from student support beforehand to help you become familiar with virtual interaction. The Rose Training Team will still be contactable via phone and email for any questions you may have.
- You are able to interact with both your Marriage Celebrant trainer and your fellow students just as you would in a classroom setting – just raise your hand to ask a question.
- Your trainer will share their presentation by sharing their computer screen and webcam, and will demonstrate how to use the online learning materials.
- Regular question and answer sessions allows students to ask and get answers to their questions. Each day is split into a morning and afternoon session.
- The video and audio quality is excellent, and it’s a fun and enjoyable way to learn!
*For Face-to-Face Zoom Classroom, there is a portfolio of work to be completed in students’ own time. Students are given 12 months to complete this portfolio, but may hand in their work at any time within a 12-month period. The Face-to-Face Zoom Classroom gives Rose Training’s Celebrancy students a solid foundation by having our experienced tutors deliver and explain the most up to date information needed to complete the Certificate IV in Celebrancy. This is followed by up to 12 months of supported online study, and other face to face workshops or assessment events where needed. The volume of learning for the Certificate IV in Celebrancy is typically completed in six months to one year. The CHC41015 – Certificate IV in Celebrancy comprises of thirteen units in all, including five compulsory units, plus four electives that are mandatory if you wish to apply for registration as a marriage celebrant with the Attorney General’s Department.
On successful completion, you will be awarded with a CHC41015 – Certificate IV in Celebrancy, which is the minimum requirement for registration as a marriage celebrant. Once you have received your certificate, you can contact the Attorney General’s Department to obtain an application package to become registered as a marriage celebrant.
Units completed for this qualification meet the requirements specified in the Marriage (Celebrancy Qualifications or Skills) Determination 2018.

- BSBTEC301 – Design and produce business documents
Volume of Learning
The Volume of Learning (VoL) is a notional duration for how long a learner who is undertaking full-time studies, and who does not hold any of the competencies applicable to this qualification, would be expected to take to develop all the skills and knowledge required for its attainment.
For this qualification, the volume of learning associated with full-time equivalent study has been set as 1458 hours, delivered over a period of 52 weeks of online tuition. It will consist of an amount of training, as well as unsupervised learning activities.
This aligns with the AQF Volume of Learning benchmarks of 600-2400 hours.
Amount of Training
Amount of training includes, but is not limited to, learning activities such as guided learning, classes, tutorials, online activities, and assessment activities.
The amount of training hours allocated for this qualification are 810.
The range of hours varies depending on the participant’s availability and his/her chosen study load.
Unsupervised Learner Activity
Unsupervised learning includes, but is not limited to, self-directed activities such as personal practice, research, assessment preparation and private study.
For this qualification, the college has anticipated that 648 hours of unsupervised learner activity will apply. This may vary depending on individual learner needs. This approximates to 12.5 hours per week.
Total combined hours per week equates to 28.

CHC41015 – Certificate IV in Celebrancy | Cluster by Cluster Payment Option
As an additional payment option, we offer the ability to progress the course through our cluster by cluster payment method (CXC).
How the course is structured
- Certificate IV in Celebrancy includes 13 units, delivered in 5 clusters (topic based).
- All delivery modes (online or live via Zoom) use the same 5 clusters.
- Most students try to aim for one cluster every two months, but you can move faster or slower within the 12-month enrolment period.
- You start with Cluster 1 and progress in order. Parts of Cluster 5 unlock only after earlier prerequisites are completed.
About the “Cluster-by-Cluster” payment option
- First instalment: $885 at checkout
- Then: 4 × $275, billed every two months from your enrolment date or on completion of the previous cluster—whichever comes first
- Total on this plan: $1,985
- Time limit: 12 months from enrolment to complete the course
