What we're doing

Rather than a single morning, we're running our Pink Ribbon Breakfast as a month-long campaign from 1 to 31 October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every donation goes directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and Rose Training matches it dollar for dollar.

1

You donate on our NBCF page. Any amount, any time in October.

2

We add the same amount from Rose Training, up to $1,000 across the campaign.

3

Once the community reaches $1,000, our full match kicks in and $2,000 goes to breast cancer research.

Donations beyond the match still go straight to NBCF; they just aren't doubled. Every donation is tax-deductible.

Where we're up to

$156raised by our community, of our $1,000 goal

With our match that's $312 for breast cancer research so far.

Add to the total

Why we're doing it

1 in 7Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime

Put that number against the size of our community, students, graduates, trainers, staff and their families, and it stops being a statistic. Most of us know someone. Some of us are that someone.

The people who train with us choose careers built on being there for others at the hardest and most important moments of their lives. That's the kind of organisation we want to be as well, not just in what we teach but in what we do. Backing research that's working toward zero deaths from breast cancer felt like the right way to act on that.

About the National Breast Cancer Foundation

NBCF is Australia's leading not-for-profit funder of breast cancer research. Since 1994 it has backed research into better ways to detect breast cancer earlier, treat it more effectively and improve survival, all working toward one goal: zero deaths from breast cancer.

NBCF doesn't receive government funding for its research. It exists because people and businesses choose to give.

What your donation can do

$50 can help researchers test new treatments for hard-to-treat breast cancers.
$100 can help a researcher use clinical data to predict how a patient will respond to therapy.
$200 can help develop new therapies for aggressive breast cancers.

Questions

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. NBCF is a registered deductible gift recipient. You'll receive a receipt by email straight after donating.

Does the money go to Rose Training first?

No. Donations are made on NBCF's own fundraising platform and go directly to NBCF. Rose Training's matching contribution is paid separately to NBCF.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. The donation form has an option to hide your name from the public page.

What happens after the $1,000 match is reached?

Donations keep going straight to NBCF for the rest of October; they're just no longer doubled by us.
